Established in 2005, Ningbo Rehabilitation Hospital is a public rehab hospital subordinated to the Disabled Person’s Federation of Ningbo. It is the first rehab hospital of Ningbo.

In 2015, the hospital put forward its 13^th five-year plan, and aimed at building an international exchange platform, modifying its management and service flow in line with international standards, enhancing its service ability, promoting discipline development and improving quality and patient and employee satisfaction through CARF accreditation. After one-year preparation, it passed three-year CARF accreditation in October 2016.

Service flow reform in line with CARF concept:

• Standardize paperwork covering the entire rehab process from PTA evaluation to discharge advices;

• Rebuild team meeting mode to change from medical team-centered assessment meeting to patient-centered team meeting which highly respect opinions from patients and their families

• Promote efficient interdisciplinary team communication and help the progress of unitization

• Complete system establishment under CARF framework

• Set up a committee for constant improvement, risk management, accessibility, health and safety to promote cross-department coordination

• Repeatedly check the accessibility, and comprehensively reconstruct the infrastructure including setting up passenger-vehicle separation, parking for the disabled and indoor/outdoor signage system

• Set up patient-doctor communication wall in the ward, improve firefighting access identifications, and add curtains in the treatment zone to protect patients’ privacy

• In the children’s ward and treatment zone, set up preschool education room and baby care room, taking into full consideration of the specialty of the patient population.

Successfully passed three-year CARF accreditation in October 2016, and became the first rehab hospital in Zhejiang which has passed three-year CARF accreditation, and the first CARF accredited hospital covering children and teenager services in China.
